		<h4>From the Beijing International Airport to the Campus</h4>
		<e>We are trying to arrange a shuttle service from the airport to the campus
directly on the 29th of June, when most of the participants will arrive.
However, if you happened to miss this shuttle, it is also quite easy to get from
the airport to the Peking University (PKU) campus by calling a taxi.</e>
		<e>To get from the Beijing International Airport to ZHONGGUANXINYUAN GLOBAL VILLAGE, PKU, you can
take a taxi at the airport. Make sure that you wait for the taxi at the official
taxi station just outside the terminal. Do not take unofficial taxis. Do not
bargain with the driver. Use the meter. The airport is about 30km away from the
campus of PKU and the drive takes about 30-60mins depending on the traffic. The
regular fare from the airport to the PKU campus is around 100RMB (this also
depends on the traffic and the type of car you are taking). In any case, pay the
amount that is indicated on the meter plus highway fee (10RMB) only. There is no
need to pay tips and the driver should also provide you a printed receipt of the
payment. We have made a PDF file in Chinese, telling the driver where you want
to go. <a href="../zgxy.jpg" target="_blank">Just print this file out and show it to the driver.</a>

		<h3>Local Subway Lines</h3>
		<e>The content of this part is taken from

		</e>
		<e>The subway is an excellent way to quickly get around the city and a traveller
can easily figure it out through the station maps and English signs and
language. Beijing now has five subway lines (beginning October 7, 2007): </e>
		<ul>
			<li>Line 1 runs from the industrial Pingguoyuan area in the west to Sihui East
  in eastern Beijing. It has 21 stops and follows Chang'an Dajie, the main
  avenue of Beijing. It links Xidan, Tian'anmen East and West, Wangfujing,
  Dongdan, Guomao, and Yong'anli. Transfer stations are at Fuxingmen (Line 2),
  Jianguomen (Line 2), and Sihui/Sihui East (Batong Line).</li>
			<li>Line 2 is also called the Loop Line and follows the 2nd Ring Road. Major
  stops of interest include Qianmen, a major transportation hub as well as an
  attraction in its own right. Transfer stations are at Fuxingmen (Line 2),
  Jianguomen (Line 2), Xizhimen (Line 13), and Dongzhimen (Line 13).</li>
			<li>Line 5 is Beijing's first north-south subway line. Useful stops include
  the Temple of Heaven (Tiantan Dongmen).</li>
			<li>Line 13 does an extended northern semi-loop from Dongzhimen via
  Huilongguan through to Xizhimen. Transfer stations are at Xizhimen and
  Dongzhimen (both to Line 2). </li>
			<li>Batong Line (aka Line 8T) runs east from Sihui to Tuqiao in eastern
  suburban Beijing. Transfer stations are at Sihui and Sihui East (both to Line
  1). The Batong Line is not of much use for travelers.</li>
		</ul>

			</a>
		</e>
		<e>Seven additional subway lines are under construction in preparation for the
2008 Olympics.</e>
		<e>The subway station entrances are identified by a large blue stylized letter B
wrapped around a smaller letter D.</e>
		<e>Purchase tickets at the window. Note that if you want two tickets, do not
show your thumb and index finger, the Chinese way to signify numbers is
different from the west, thumb and index finger mean eight not two.</e>
		<e>The subway ticket costs 2 yuan since October 7, 2007. There is a pre-paid
card system. There is a 20 yuan payment for the card. It can also be used for
reduced-price bus rides.</e>
